Elektron has partnered with Signify in Switzerland for several years, recently branching into Austria. They concentrate on large outdoor projects, specializing in sustainable and connected lighting. Elektron has extensive experience with Interact connected lighting software from Signify. Together with Signify, Elektron strives to develop innovative ideas in the lighting market for private and corporate clients alike.

Carbon-neutral luminaires

Inspired by Signify’s Brighter Lives Better World program, Elektron undertook to build a sustainable portfolio for its end customers. They used Signify’s environmental product declarations to create a carbon-neutral street luminaire.

 

Together with myClimate.org, Elektron calculates the total CO2 consumption for the production and transport of every project. A compensation fee for green projects is added to the total. This allows their customers to choose a green footprint per project. Elektron has been using carbon-neutral luminaires from Signify, such as Luma. They have sold more than 1,000 Luma luminaires since 2021. In 2022, the carbon neutral option was extended to Elektron’s whole R&S portfolio.

In 2021, we stared using Luma, the first climate - neutral street luminaire. The great support of our customers has led us to offer all our road and street luminaires in a climate-neutral version from spring 2022.”
